How to get the residence permit

Those who have legally and continuously lived in Spain during the last five years may apply for a Long-Term Residence Authorization.

In order to access this long-term permit, you cannot have stayed abroad from Spain for over ten months during the five years prior to the request, except for work reasons, in which case you will be allowed to have stayed outside of Spain up to a maximum of twelve months within the required five years.

This is a residence permit that will be granted indefinitely for Spain, although the card (T.I.E) will have to be renewed every 5 years through visits to the national police station of your choice, to take holder’s fingerprints.

Once this permit is granted, you will be able to work both as an employee and as a self-employed person.

You have several options.
