Report of Social Insertion
Arraigo Social
There is the possibility of applying for a residence permit by proving that you have enough social integration in Spain.
This is known as "Arraigo social".
In order to make an application for this kind of permit at the Foreigners' Office in Spain, it is necessary to previously process a document called Social Insertion Report (Informe de Inserción Social).
Before addressing this important issue, we will briefly remind you what the Arraigo Social is, for those who have never heard about it:
ARRAIGO SOCIAL
It is a temporary residence permit granted because of an exceptional circumstances addressed to those foreign citizens without a valid permit who have been already living in Spain for a minimum period of three years and have a work contract and either have family ties in Spain or are socially integrated.
This permit may be requested in those cases where the foreign citizen has never had a residence permit in Spain, or they have lost it.
The requirements are:
- Not having criminal records in Spain and also in their previous countries of residence.
- To have remained continuously in Spain for a minimum period of three years( absences from Spain during this period cannot exceed 120 days).
- Have family ties with other resident foreigners or present a report of roots that accredits their social integration issued by the Autonomous Community (or the City Council if the Autonomous Community has authorized it), in whose territory they have their habitual residence.
- To have an employment contract or sufficient economic funds.
WHAT IS THE SOCIAL INTEGRATION REPORT
For those cases where the applicants don´t have a work contract , or cannot demonstrate the existence of family ties in Spain, it is necessary to demonstrate that they are "socially integrated".
Therefore, it is not a mandatory document, but most of the foreign offices in Spain will ask you to provide it, so we recommend you to process it with time enough before you apply for your Arraigo Social residence permit.
At Visal Immigration we recommend you to always request this social integration report, regardless of the personal situation that leads you to request the Arraigo. Especially for the following cases, in which it will always be mandatory to present it:
- When you do not have direct relatives in Spain.
- When you want to apply for a Arraigo Social without a labor contract.
- Or when you want to make a Arraigo Social by creating your own company.
This Social Insertion Report is a document issued by the Autonomous Community or Local Corporation and includes information such as:
- The time that you have remained in Spain ( at least 3 years).
- the economic means you have.
- criminal background check.
- If you know the language.
- If you have participated in educational, training or socio-labor programs and integration efforts.
The Social Insertion Report must be issued within 30 days from the application.
